01

Reducing waste
by making fashion last.

One of the less frequently mentioned aspects of sustainability in fashion is to minimize waste by making fashion that is designed to last through timeless designs, high-quality materials, and true craftsmanship. This can’t be―and shouldn’t be― cheap or easy. As L&S we chose to work only with clients who design and market fashion items that are designed to be loved and cared for, used and reused for many years.

02

Taking certification and
audits seriously.

As L&S we commit to working only with manufacturers who are audited for their social practices. Most have independent certifications such as SEDEX, BSCI or Ekoteks, some are certified by GOTS or Oeko-Tex. We make sure that they meet the certification criteria and, of course, our clients’ own audit criteria. Where needed, we also support our manufacturers in getting their production processes aligned with sustainability requirements.

03

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle.

We encourage and support our manufacturers to keep them updated on innovations in the field of sustainability to help them reduce use of plastic and unnecessary packaging, reduce use of water, adopting ecofriendly and waste-reduction processes, reuse and recycle materials wherever possible. We support the use of organic and sustainably produced and certified fabrics and accessories, as well as the use of certified recycled materials.
